A Brief History of My Career

Hello, fellow tech enthusiasts! I'm Andi Ashari, and I wanted to take a moment to share with you a journey — my journey — through the bustling and ever-evolving world of technology and innovation. From the vibrant streets of Jakarta to the complex realm of cloud infrastructure and software engineering, my path has been nothing short of fascinating.

The Humble Beginnings

My foundational step into the tech world began at BINUS University. It was more than just lectures and assignments; it was a foray into software research and development. As a Junior Researcher, I delved deep into machine learning's potential, unearthing its capabilities and implications for the future. My passion for sharing knowledge also led me to a teaching role, where I got the chance to inspire and guide young minds into the wonders of computer science.

Setting Foot in the Industry

The real-world application beckoned, and I heeded its call. My first significant role was as a Web Developer at Telekomunikasi Indonesia in Bali. Here, I was responsible for creating a web-based logbook application, aiming to enhance field staff efficiency and accountability. This was my first taste of creating something that had tangible effects on operations and efficiency.

Then came my time at Ralali.com, a dynamic B2B marketplace. I started as a Software Engineer, diving into the depths of software development, before moving up the ladder to become a Technical Architect. Here, I had the opportunity to orchestrate technical solutions and solidify the platform's robustness.

Clouds on the Horizon

The allure of cloud infrastructure was irresistible. I took on consultancy roles for esteemed names like Kargo Technologies and Shopee. As a Cloud Infrastructure Consultant, my focus shifted to system architecture and enhancing cloud infrastructure, ensuring scalability and efficiency.

Traveloka: A Cloud Above the Rest

My enriching journey at Traveloka began as a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer, a role I delved into for 1 year and 10 months. My dedication and contributions didn't go unnoticed. I was promoted to Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer, where I further honed my skills for another 1 year and 11 months. Recognizing my expertise and the evolving needs of the organization, my job role transitioned to Senior Site Reliability Engineer. This change wasn't just a title shift but a reflection of the expanded responsibilities and the integral role I played in ensuring the smooth functioning of our systems.

Every twist and turn of my career has added a feather to my cap:

  • Software Development
